Douaneopleidingen Nederland has renamed the Declarant course: Customs Consultant. Completely rewritten and adapted to current legislation and split into separate courses (modules).
An education focused on the future!
From 2025, we will also offer the Customs Consultant (Declarant) course as an online English course. At the same time, we looked at the requirements the legislation will require declarants to comply with in the near future. Incoterms and VAT have therefore become part of this updated Customs Consultant course.
During the online training you will work in modules, which are divided into 3 blocks. As dealing with customs legislation books occupies an important place in the training, you always start with a lesson "Dealing with customs legislation books".
- Block 1: Dealing with customs codes - AEO - Entry - Customs declaration (transition from AGS to DMS) - Customs debt & Refund - Customs transit - DTV - VGEM
- Block 2: Free circulation, Exemption & Returned goods - Tariff - Incoterms - Customs value - Origin & Provenance
- Block 3: Special Customs Procedures (General, Inward Processing, Outward Processing, Bonded Warehouse, Temporary Import, Special Destinations) - Exports & Exit - Excise General - VAT and (B)FV - Objections and Appeals & Fines - Agriculture
The modules of this (online) course can also be taken separately, so it is also possible to choose to take only one or a few modules
Please note: because several modules of the online variant are shorter than the day variant, more self-study is expected from the participants. Also, it is therefore highly desirable to have completed the Junior Customs Consultant course before participating in the Online Customs Consultant course.
Location
The training is divided into 3 blocks. The first lesson is physical in Nieuwegein. This is an introduction and getting to know the teacher and fellow course members. The remaining lessons are online through Microsoft Teams. The 3 exams will also take place in Nieuwegein.
Diploma
Each block of the Customs Consultant course can be finalised with a final test. If the result of the final test is at least 5½, you will receive a Certificate of the relevant module.
If all modules have been followed and tested within 3 years, the certificates can be exchanged for the Customs Consultant diploma from Douaneopleidingen Nederland.
